Okay, I have another story for you. And, remember this is only funny when it is OVER!!!
Yesterday, I took a photo of our little table topper called Zippity Doo Dah which we have made into kits. I wanted to take the photo so we could get it on the website (Doug has it now listed at: http://www.abcsofquilting.com/kits )and also for the pattern. So far, so good, right???
I got the camera out and had Shannon hold the topper and snapped the photo. I was still on a roll and dashed to the computer and inserted my card into the reader without looking at which slot I used.
Yup, the computer ATE my photo card like it was a fresh & still warm chocolate chip cookie!!! Let me tell you that there is NO amount of tilting or shaking that helps this situation!!!!! Even Shannon with tweezers and a refashioned paperclip were not able to solve the problem. After a big giant, “…aaaauuuuggggghhhh” and several other words, I was forced to call Doug.
You remember Doug, right? My wonderful hubby who keeps our website up and running??? Well, he is also the same guy who manages the Computer Store that we used to purchase our computer. I thought I should just start with ‘falling on my sword’ as they say and told him that I had done one of the Top Five Stupid things in computerland.
His response was pretty predicable…our conversation was punctuated with a lot of “….you did whaaatttt?”. Finally he said that the tower for the computer would have to come into the shop and get fixed. Like they were going to have to take the whole thing apart to get the card back out. Yippee!! I did ask if he would come over and pick up the tower and take it to the shop for me(yes, people, I get some extra benefits because we are married). He agreed to be here first thing this morning and take it away.
However, one of the techs arrived instead. Got the little card out and while laughing at me said that it happens a lot — which I guess is supposed to make me feel better! I gave him a handful of Halloween candy and thanked him profusely! Not only was I happy that he retrieved the card, but I was really happy I didn’t have to be without my computer for the entire day.
So, I put the card back into the camera and took the photo of the Candy Kisses Table Topper
(http://www.abcsofquilting.com/kits) and now there are TWO new kits on our site!
All I can say is that it did end well, but I was feeling pretty low for awhile! Enjoy your day and Happy Quilting!!
I don’t know about you, but one of my worst traits as a quilter is using a pattern only once. And, I happen to know that I am not alone with this problem, either!! Why do I do that?
